The Catholic Church believes in the sanctity and permanence of the marriage bond. This bond is created by God at the time of marriage, if the marriage matches the criteria of commitment as defined by the teachings of Christ and His Church.
This bond is normally created at the time of marriage, and prevents a person from entering into a similar bond while their first spouse is still alive. In the annulment process the Church evaluates the validity of the marriage bond, to determine whether it truly came into existence at the time of the marriage.
If you have questions regarding the annulment process please call the parish office. Additional information on the annulment process can be obtained at the Diocese of Phoenix Tribunal Office.
