Vision and Mission
The Youth
Formation program at Holy Cross Catholic Church seeks to empower young
people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, to draw young people to
responsible participation in the life and work of the Catholic faith,
and to foster totally the personal and spiritual growth of each young
person. Through the weekly Youth Liturgy, Sacrament preparation, the
EDGE and Life Teen programs, service projects, and additional spiritual
and communal events, we focus on building and maintaining a
comprehensive faith formation program through the means of
evangelization, catechesis, community life, pastoral care, justice and
service, leadership development, advocacy, as well as prayer and
worship. We strive to create a welcoming and safe environment where
young people can learn, share, and mature together in faith and
ultimately are enabled to become happy, healthy, and holy adults.
EDGE is a
catechetical– based, Catholic youth ministry program for middle school
youth in grades 6, 7, and 8. The Edge group meets on a weekly basis from
mid-September through mid-May on Wednesday evenings and fosters the
educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of middle school
youth.
The Life
Teen program is open to all young people in grades 9, 10, 11, & 12, and
provides a catechetical-based and Eucharistic centered opportunity for
adolescents to grow in their faith and in community. Educational,
spiritual, and social components of each gathering provide widespread
opportunities for each young person to share and mature in their
Catholic faith.
Registration and payment are required to participate in the EDGE and
Life Teen programs. Please contact the Religious Education office for
more information.
