Discover the Richness of Catholicism

(Explore the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults)

In July 2006 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops published the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, a local catechism (minor catechism).  The U.S. catechism is an adaptation of the universal Catechism of the Catholic Church (a major catechism) which was approved by Pope John Paul II in 1992.

The United States Catholic Catechism for Adults is an excellent resource for group or individual study of the Catholic Church.  This catechism, as well as the universal catechism, is divided into four major sections: 1) the Creed (what the Church believes), 2) the Sacraments (what the Church celebrates, 3) the Commandments (what the Church lives) and 4) the Our Father (what the Church prays).

For a self-directed study, please contact Cindy Benzing, coordinator of Adult Faith Formation,

at 480-981-2021 x 214, or cbenzing@holycrossmesa.org.
