and many others. This ministry is open to children who have made their
First Communion. Initial and ongoing training is required. If you
are interested in serving and would like more information, please contact Jackie

ANNULMENTS
The church understands that healing from a previous
marriage is a difficult time regardless of the circumstances. In the annulment
process the Church is evaluating the validity of the marriage, to determine
whether that relationship was a true marriage as taught by Christ and understood
by the Church. If you have any questions or want to start the process of
obtaining a Decree of Nullity, please contact Deacon Gene Messer at (480)
981-2021 ext.206 or
gmesser@holycrossmesa.org.

ART & ENVIRONMENT
The Art and Environment ministry helps design and
create the liturgical environment in the worship space. Because each liturgical
season (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time) has a distinct
flavor, the change in the environment is essential to experiencing good
liturgy.
"Called to Protect" Training
is required to be a part of any
ministry at Holy Cross. If you are artistically inclined and/or feel the desire
to donate some of your time, contact the
parish office to see how you can get
involved! |

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
**FAITH ** FRATERNITY ** FAMILY * *
Knights are
Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their
community better, while supporting their parish and the Catholic Church. Being a

events; they support Pro-Life activities and youth activities; they serve as
ushers, as ministers, on parish committees and the parish council: and in full
regalia, they serve as Honor Guard to the Bishop and at major parish functions.
You are invited to learn more about the Knights of Columbus and how you, too may
become a Knight, call Knight Kevin Knapp at (480) 924-7122 or Grand Knight Norm
Rimby at (480) 325-2651. For more information on the Knights of Columbus

MINISTRY
OF CARE
The Ministry of Care is about caring for and ministering to the
emotional/spiritual needs of the sick and dying, primarily within our parish
boundaries. This ministry takes place in the personal homes of the sick
and dying, as well as hospitals and care facilities dedicated to providing
assisted living, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care. Our Ministers of
Care combine pastoral care with administration of the Holy Eucharist. Such
care provides both the presence of Jesus within the Minister of Care and the
presence of Jesus within the Eucharist.
To help in this ministry you must take the
"Called
to Protect" Training
classes. |

SMALL CHURCH COMMUNITIES (SSC)
The goal of Small Church Communities is to present to each parishioner of Holy
Cross Parish a new way of being church. To establish a vision where each
person may take responsibility for not only their own spiritual growth, but also
to find ways to deal with the emotional, relational and physical needs of their
fellow parishioners.
Forming small church communities where 8 to 12 people gather in their homes or a
mutual meeting place is where the participants begin building trust and
establishing a mutual bond. This is how we become Church to one another.
With Jesus as our center we connect our faith to everyday life situations.
Strengthened by that action within each group, we are better able to serve those
in the larger church. Small church communities are to help ordinary people
help each other to connect life and faith regularly. |
