The Holy Cross “Sowers”
are beginning a
new service project making “Belonging Bags” which will be give
tothe local CPS office to use when they remove a child out of a
home.
When a child is taken from a home that has been deemed unsafe by
Child Protective Services (CPS), the child may take only a small
amount of toys, clothes, and personal belongings. Sometimes CPS
is able to give the child a suitcase but sometimes there isn't
time. Many times, the child arrives at a child crisis center,
group home, or foster home with literally one or two large trash
bags full of their personal items. Donations Would be
Appreciated Sturdy fabric that is not too heavy Cording for the
drawstrings 1-1/2 yds long This is a great time to join the
“Sowers” who meet on Tuesday Mornings.

We
Need Help in the Parish Office on the Weekends!
To meet our growing needs, we would like to have two people in
the office on the weekends.
There are three shifts. Sat. 3-5pm, Sun. 7-10am, Sun. 10-1pm. If
you can help out once a month during one of those time periods,
we would greatly appreciate the help. You would be starting with
an established volunteer and will meet new parishioners as you
assist them with their needs.
If you think you would like to help, please contact Cindy Lou in
the parish office at 480-981-2021.

Ministers of Care Needed
There is a strong need for new Ministers of Care at Holy Cross.
The boundaries of Holy Cross include three hospitals and over 20
care facilities. Ministers of Care volunteer for pastoral and
Eucharistic visits to the sick and dying in homes, care
facilities and hospitals. We are especially in need of
parishioners who are permanent residents because we are
sometimes short-handed when the winter visitors leave for the
summer months.
Certification training this year will begin on Saturday,
September 20. All interested parishioners are welcome to call
Deacon Joe Scaccia at 480-981-2021, Ext. 207.

TWO HOMES FOR SALE

a patio home, one bedroom, one bath, the other a two bedroom,
one and a half bath house. Any interested parishioners should
call Kathy Knapp at 480-981-2021.
