Ministry of
Hospitality
Ushers Wanted
Our parish continues to have several opportunities available for
those parishioners who wish to become an Usher in the Ministry
of Hospitality. We have an immediate need for women and younger
parishioners. All we ask is that you bring a smile to Church
each week and we promise to teach you the rest! Our principles
serve as our guide:
Unity Among Peers
Seat Fellow Parishioners
Handling of Collections
Eager to Serve the Lord
Ready to Lend a Hand
Please consider serving the Lord as an Usher and come join our
Ministry!
We’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have,
Jaime Cortez /

Altar Servers and Acolytes Needed
Holy Cross currently has a great need for Altar Servers and
Acolytes. The Altar Server ministers assist the priest-celebrant
during Mass. There are specific duties that the altar
server/acolyte carries out each week for which initial and
ongoing training is
provided. This ministry is open to children who have made their
First Communion. We are also looking for older students and
adults who would be interested in serving. This is a great way
for students to fulfill their service hour requirements for
school and
Sacramental prep and is an invaluable service to the parish. If
you are interested in serving and would like more information,
please
contact: Jackie Shelley, Coordinator of Liturgical Ministry at
(480) 981-2021 ext. 220 or
jshelley@holycrossmesa.org.

Tax
Laws for 2009
Due to changes in the tax laws,
contributions made in 2009 to the parish will not be an allowed tax
deduction unless a
bank record is maintained or a written contribution statement from
the parish is received. If you want to ensure
deductibility of your contributions to the parish, please use your
envelopes, direct deposit from your bank account or
use a check. The parish will track contributions and produce a
written statement in January 2010. Cancelled
checks and other bank records are also sufficient documentation. The
parish cannot track cash contributions
that are not in parish envelopes. If you are interested in direct
deposit, contact the parish office at 480-981-2021. |
